Consultancy
The Internet community has long realized that IPv4, which has served us well for more than 30 years, is no longer able to meet today's needs. Address space, under IPv4, is running out. The growing demand for internet-enabled devices during the last few years has made this problem even more acute. In 1992, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) decided to come up with a new Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). IPV6 would solve more than just the problem of address space shortage. It has inbuilt features to handle problems associated with security, mobility, internet traffic, etc. All in all, with the transition to IPv6, the Internet community would experience a much better quality of service from Internet usage. Malaysia decided to transit from IPv4 to IPv6 over a period of 5 years from 2006 to 2010. By 2010, it is targeted that all public and private institutions and organizations in Malaysia would be fully IPv6 compliant. A mid-term milestone is the transition of government departments by 2008. 3G Wireless and Software offer the complete range of services for the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 including making an in-house study on our client's requirements, recommendation for transitioning from IPv4 to IPv6, implementation and training on usage of IPv6.
